Mauro Orsatti is an Italian catholic priest. After his philosophical and theological studies in Brescia, where he was born in 1949, he specialized in Sacred Scriptures in Rome, Jerusalem (Israel), and Munich (Germany), then graduated at Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome (SSL, SSD). Since 1976 he is teaching Biblical Studies at Paul VI's Theological Institute (diocesan Priest Seminary), Brescia (Italy). Since 1992 he is professor of New Testament, Faculty of Theology, Lugano (Switzerland). He is also visiting professor at Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca (Romania), on the Faculty of Greek-catholic Theology, department of Blaj. Up to now he has written twenty-three books on biblical subjects, some of them translated into different languages, as well as several articles and dictionary entries. Since 1999 he is bishop’s vicar for Consecrated Life in Brescia, his native diocese. Announcing the Word of God by courses, lectures, spiritual retreats in many Countries, wide spread in the five continents, is to be considered a significant part of his mission.
